If you require low vision optometry services, allied health services, aids and equipment, you are able to choose Vision Australia.

What support can I receive through the Department of Veterans' Affairs?
The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) website has a range of resources to help veterans and their families learn more about the services available. Resources include books (available online or in hard copy), a video, and a webinar series.
DVA provides services if you have a Veteran Gold or White Card. Vision Australia services include:
- Aids, equipment and modifications through the Rehabilitation Appliance Program
- Optometry and orientation and mobility services
- Allied health services
- Library services
- Travel for attending appointments and treatment
To access allied health services through DVA, you will require an annual GP referral. Access a GP referral form via DVA here or contact Vision Australia.
Can I receive services from DVA and My Aged Care at the same time?
If you are already receiving DVA-funded services, you may still be able to receive My Aged Care services, so long as:
- you’re eligible for those services
- you only need entry-level support, and
- you’re not receiving the same service from both.
For example, you may receive community transport and social support through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
To find out your eligibility, check with DVA on 1800 555 254, or My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
