In the program for the week of May 6, we conclude our discussion of dog guides through conversation with two people who use these animals as their primary mobility aid. We hear from a gentleman for whom guide dogs have been part of his life for over 45 years. He explains how the dogs are even gentler and more focussed now than the fine animals of decades ago.
By contrast we hear from a lady who is just three months in to her partnership with her first seeing eye dog. She talks about the freedom and security her dog contributes as she moves about her locality with her two young children.
Participants this week are:
- Graeme McGowan from Macedon in Victoria;
- Kirsty Hughes from Shepparton in Victoria.
Also this week, Frances Keyland from the Vision Australia Library previews more in Reader Recommended.
