Vision Australia's Mornings of Celebration will be held during May to recognise and celebrate the valuable contribution of Vision Australia's 4200 volunteers.
It coincides with National Volunteers Week, which runs from May 13-19, under the theme of Thanks a Million.
A series of volunteer recognition events will be held across Vision Australia's regional and metropolitan centres.
Without volunteers, Vision Australia wouldn't be able to offer vital services such as Seeing Eye Dogs, recreation activities, administration, client support, community work, community advocacy and education, events and recreation support, to name a few.
There are also some standout volunteer contributions that will be acknowledged during the month, like the couple who have volunteered at Kooyong for 45 years. They will be awarded their 45-year pins at Vision Australia's Kooyong Plaza on May 15 at 10am.
As well as a series of events, VA has announced the winners of the Making a Difference Awards
The Making a Difference Awards are VA's way of recognising individuals, community groups and organisations who help make a practical difference to people who are blind or have low vision.
Vision Australia's Further Education Bursary Awards will also be given out during the month.
Vision Australia's CEO, Ron Hooton, said Morning of Celebration is an important time for staff to reflect on the valuable contribution volunteers make.
"Without volunteer support we would not be able to provide the range and breadth of services that we offer so many Australians who are blind or have low vision. I encourage everyone to take the time to give our volunteers a pat on the back during this month," he said.
