Vision Australia provides books in a variety of formats for people who are blind or vision impaired, including braille files that can be downloaded and read using a refreshable braille display.
To help us improve our online braille service, we are seeking users of refreshable braille displays to fill in a short survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/braille_reading_preferences which aims to find out about the general reading preferences of people who use a refreshable braille display.
Three sample files with differing options for navigation have been created. It is not necessary for you to look at these samples, however there is an opportunity to comment on them at the end of the survey.
Please email Leona Holloway at [email protected] for copies of the following braille files:
- Sample 1 - includes a contents page and navigation line with running header and page numbers, as would appear in a hard copy braille book
- Sample 2 - includes a contents page and braille page numbers on the top of each braille page
- Sample 3 - provides a continuous reading experience without a contents page, running title or page numbers
The survey closes Monday 17 December 2012.
Any queries about the survey can be directed to Leona Holloway at [email protected] or (03) 9864 9665 Monday to Wednesday.
