Key features
The Olitech EasyFlip Smart Phone is an easy-to-use phone that combines advanced accessibility features designed to assist those who are blind or have low vision, hearing impairments, or have memory challenges. It also now incorporates impressive safety features designed to support the user. The phone offers customisable voice output options and features large buttons that can be easily identified by touch.
What makes it great
One of the more stand-out features built into the EasyFlip Smart is the dial-to-speech buttons, otherwise known as the talkback keypad. When a user presses the high-contrast buttons, a loud, clear voice speaks the numbers, helping avoid mistakes while dialling.
The screen itself also has adjustable text message sizes available, apart from having high contrast visibility. Colour inversion is available for the screen itself.
Having a charging cradle eliminates the need to fiddle around with the cable attachment plug. As an added feature the charging cable has a handy magnetic connection, helping simplify attachment if the cradle is bypassed.
Security and stability
The enhanced hardware of the EasyFlip Smart phone enables better safety features and improved connectivity.
An emergency key, when activated, initiates a call and sends a text message containing a Google Maps link to emergency contacts. It can also share the user’s location to emergency contacts when an emergency key is activated or when a text command is sent.
A handy auto answer mode enables incoming calls from programmed phone numbers to be automatically answered, reducing the need to screen calls from unfamiliar numbers.
Assigning a blacklist and a whitelist of phone contacts is also possible, where incoming calls & messages from programmed phone numbers can be blocked, or exclusively be received.
Another handy function is the Low Battery Alert – the user can program sending up to three text messages to nominated mobile phone numbers automatically, alerting friends or family that the phone battery level is low.
Who would benefit
The EasyFlip Smart phone would benefit those who are blind or have low vision who do not need the advanced capabilities of modern smartphones with apps, but still needs to avail of the basic functions of call and text messaging. The phone does not have a camera so it cannot scan QR codes or take photos.
The phone offers a user-friendly interface which facilitates ease of operation, while the advanced safety features offer reassurance to the user's family. This phone enhances independence and social inclusion by allowing you to maintain communication with family and friends.
