The Australian Government has shared some updates about their in-home support aged care program.
The Government has recently announced that its new Support at Home Program will be delivered in two stages to minimise disruption and ensure continuity of care for you and others.
From 1 July 2025, Support at Home will replace the existing Home Care Packages (HCP) Program and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme.
If you’re a Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) recipient, please note this program will be replaced by the government’s new Support at Home Program on 1 July 2027, instead of 2025.
If you’re a Vision Australia client, we’ll let you know of any major changes. But mainly, the staged approach will give us and all CHSP providers time to change our systems and adjust so that we can continue to support you with ease.
The changes are designed to improve access to services, equipment and home modifications to help you remain healthy, active and socially connected to your community.
